Careers
Build a career with a firm that treats accounting like a relationship, not a busy season
Quick answer
TruCount CPA PC hires accounting professionals, including staff accountants, tax preparers, and administrative support, for its Brookings, South Dakota office. Openings vary by season, and candidates can apply anytime through the firm's contact page.
Join our team
TruCount CPA PC opened its doors in Brookings, South Dakota in 2009, starting as a one-person practice before growing into the firm it is today. Kristy and Brandi have each spent 13 years here, and together they bring 51 years of accounting experience to farmers, agribusiness operators, and professional service business owners across the Midwest.
We're looking for people who want more than a seat at a desk. Our team gets to know clients personally, not just their tax returns, and that kind of work takes people who are curious, steady under a deadline, and genuinely interested in helping someone else's business run better. If that sounds like how you want to spend your career, we'd like to hear from you.
Why work with us
Public accounting has a reputation for burnout, especially during tax season. We've built something different: a fixed-fee, bundled service model that keeps workload predictable year-round instead of concentrated into a few brutal months. That predictability shows up in how we staff and how we treat people.
Real mentorship from CPAs like Julie Underwood, who works directly with staff on multi-entity agribusiness tax strategy and succession planning
Competitive pay benchmarked against South Dakota Society of CPAs data
Flexibility to manage your schedule outside the narrowest weeks of the year
A clear path to more responsibility as you grow, not a ceiling you hit early
Access to the same secure online platform our clients use, so you're never digging through email for a document
